A Practical ADA Guide for Small Business. A reader-friendly handbook outlining the employment provisions of the ADA as they relate to both employees and job applicants.
Employees with Children with Disabilities
Includes ways HR can help employees with children who have disabilities. Suggestions for employers include choosing an insurance provider that covers a wide range of treatments, helping employees navigate the insurance maze and providing extended coverage to adult disabled dependents.
Job Accommodation Network
JAN, the national Job Accommodation Network center offers expert, confidential assistance to persons needing information on any aspect of the disability employment arena. Consultations and materials are free. There is a minimal charge for videos. Their website has more than 250 links to useful information on specific disabilities, accommodations, legislation, selected EEOC documents, and much much more! JAN is a program of the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy.
HEATH Resource Center
The American Council on Education's HEATH Resource Center is the national clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities. Support from the U.S. Department of Education enables HEATH to serve as an information exchange about educational support services, policies, procedures, adaptations, and opportunities at American campuses, vocational-technical schools, and other postsecondary training entities.
Independent Living Research Utilization Program
The ILRU (Independent Living Research Utilization) program is a national center for information, training, research, and technical assistance in independent living. Its goal is to expand the body of knowledge in independent living and to improve utilization of results of research programs and demonstration projects in this field.
National Technical Institute for the Deaf's Center on Employment (NCE)
The NTID Center on Employment is a resource for employers seeking qualified, technically trained college graduates and co-ops/interns who are deaf. Some 1,100 students from all over the U.S. study at NTID, one of eight colleges of Rochester Institute of Technology, in programs at various degree levels in Business, Computing and Information Sciences, the Graphic Arts and Science and Engineering. NCE helps employers to fill their hiring needs by offering job candidates, training and consultations on integration and accommodations. Its website includes tips for interviewing, hiring interpreters, and communicating/ working with deaf individuals.

US BLN
BLN is an employer-led venture of the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy, that promotes best practices to enhance employment opportunities for candidates with disabilities.
Web site Accessibility -- Free Tool for Employers
Employers concerned that their Web pages may not be accessible to employees or visitors with disabilities can go to to test their site page-by-page or download a program that will test their entire site in batch mode. Workforce Recruitment Program
The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) is an outstanding source for qualified, dedicated students and graduates who are actively seeking internships and employment. For 25 years, the WRP has recruited college students with disabilities and provided a student database to leading employers throughout the US. This year is sure to be a success with over 1,600 highly skilled students eagerly participating in the program.
