A Business Steering Group (BSG) has been formed to lead in the development, implementation and management of the MassBLN. The BSG consists of representatives from the following companies:

About the Lead Company and the BSG

The Lead Company in conjunction with the Business Steering Group will:

• Kick off state BLN activities:
  • Set the stage for statewide activities by announcing company policies put in place to facilitate employment opportunities for qualified job applicants with disabilities
  • Issue a press release
  • Invite employers to a breakfast meeting
  • Attend the breakfast meeting, introduce the BLN concept and gain employer participation
  • Send thank you letters to employers attending the breakfast requesting their participation on the BLN and the completion of a survey designed to assess hiring needs and determine specific disability employment information that would be helpful to each company
• Meet with key employers and state representatives to:
  • Create a statewide BLN plan that addresses the concerns unique to our state
  • Identify company representatives to form and chair local BLN chapters which will conduct activities consistent with the plan and in concert with local needs
  • Designate state and local support to coordinate the activities of the program and define necessary lines of communication to report progress to the National BLN
  • Meet annually with key state representatives, local BLN chapter chairs, and support staff to review progress and to set new priorities
